Dai Zhen has profound knowledge, careful judgment and outstanding theoretical achievements. In the study of ancient books, we sorted out the ancient arithmetic such as Nine Chapters Arithmetic, Arithmetic on the Island and Arithmetic by Sun Tzu from Yongle Dadian, and summarized the achievements of ancient mathematics in China. Re-collating Shui Jing Zhu solved the problem of confusing Jing Zhu.
Dai Zhen wrote a wealth of works in his life, covering all aspects of social science and natural science. There are more than 20 kinds handed down from ancient times, such as Ce, Textual Research, Erkao, Qu Zhu, Supplement to the Book of Songs, Supplement to the Doctrine of the Mean, Textual Research of Shangshu, Introduction to Astronomy, Shuzheng in Dialects and Shuzheng in Mencius, and some of them have been translated and introduced abroad. Dai Zhen read nearly 10 thousand kinds of ancient books in the subset of classics and history before his death.
