Brief Introduction of Fujian Normal University Library
The history of the library of Fujian Normal University can be traced back to the excellent normal school of Fujian Province founded by 1907, which has collected the books of several predecessor schools such as Fujian Christian University and South China Women's College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the private books of the first president Chen. With the change of school name, 1953 library was renamed as Fujian Normal University Library. 1972 was renamed Fujian Normal University Library. Professor Zhou Gucheng, the late Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress and a famous historian, wrote the name of the museum. Cangshan Campus Library was built in 199 1, and Qishan Campus Library was officially opened in May 2006. Since 1982, the library has been the secretariat of the Library Working Committee of Fujian University. At the same time, the library of this school is the key protection unit of ancient books in China, with a collection of more than 3.8 million volumes, ranking among the best in normal universities in China, especially the rich collection of ancient books, rare books, inscriptions, calligraphy and painting, local documents, early original foreign language books and representative newspapers and periodicals around the May 4th Movement, which enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. At present, 1 has one library and two districts, which are composed of Cangshan Campus Library and Qishan Campus Library. The libraries of the two campuses have realized mutual loan and resource sharing.
