Emperor Xiao Zhuang of the Northern Wei Dynasty, dissatisfied with Er Zhurong's autocratic power, designed and killed Er Zhurong in Mingguang Temple in September of the lunar calendar in 530 AD (the third year of Yong 'an). When Er Zhurong's cousin Er Zhushilong and nephew Er Zhao Zhu got the news, they joined forces to send troops to attack Luoyang. In October of the same year, Emperor Xiao Zhuang was hanged in Jinyang by Er.

Gao Huan, the secretariat of Jinzhou, took the opportunity to capture Luoyang in 53 1 year (the second year of Jianming) and invaded Jinyang in 533 (the second year of Yongxi), thus destroying Jules' influence.

In 534 A.D. (the third year of Yongxi), Gao Huan established Yuan as emperor, namely Emperor Xiaojing, moved the capital to Ye (now Linzhang County, Hebei Province) and established the Eastern Wei Dynasty. In the second year, Yu Wentai, the general of Yongzhou secretariat, established the Western Wei Dynasty, namely West Wei Wendi, with its capital in Chang 'an. The Northern Wei Dynasty was formally divided into the Eastern Wei Dynasty and the Western Wei Dynasty.
