In the Tang Dynasty's old book "Biography of Gaoli", it is recorded that "dancing for two rounds stirs the wind and waves, like hanging a sail mat." A new type of warship designed and manufactured by Colliers is equipped with two paddles, one on each side. Soldiers trample with their feet, driving the paddles to rotate, making the ship move forward as fast as hanging sails.
In the "Quarrying Battle" in the Southern Song Dynasty, Song Jun used a warship called "Zhouzhi". There are ten paddles on each side of the ship, and there is a big paddle at the stern. There are many stone throwers on board and equipped with archers.
