Among the 50 archival documents passed in the primary election, experts assessed that 35 archival documents were included in the second batch of China Archives Heritage List.
Among the selected files, there are many excellent products. Up to now, the world can see the earliest world map "The Mixed Map of Daming" drawn by China's traditional painting method in the history of China, the witness written by King George III to Emperor Qianlong18th century table of the history of the exchange between Chinese and Western civilizations, the largest and most mature book in ancient China, the Yongle Grand Ceremony, and the original recording of six pieces of music played by folk musician A Bing himself.
The jury will also select the best works from the archives and literature heritages selected by China to apply for the Memory of the World Register. In September 2003, the ancient books of Naxi Dongba in Lijiang, Yunnan, China were successfully selected into the Memory of the World. So far, there are three archives in China.
China National Museum, National Library, Chinese Academy of Art and archives under the Ministry of Culture participated in the declaration. This application for World Heritage has played a very positive role in expanding the social impact of "China Archives Heritage Project" and provided a successful example.
It is reported that China National Archives Bureau is actively preparing for the "China Archives Rare Exhibition" based on "Selected Archives of China". This rare exhibition will be held in Beijing in the first half of 2004 and will be exhibited abroad. The second volume of China Archives Heritage List will also be published at the end of this year.
