When did Japanese calligraphy appear?

According to China History, Japanese history originated from the legend of Xu Fudong crossing the river in Qin Dynasty. In other words, the earliest calligraphy works in Japan should be the seal script of Qin State. Japanese calligraphy in the true sense originated in Tang Chao. During the Tang Dynasty, Japan sent many envoys and overseas students to the Tang Dynasty. Among the things they studied was China's calligraphy.

In addition, in the past, Japanese words only had phonetic symbols, and there was no writing. After sending the envoys of the Tang Dynasty back to China, the Japanese characters created are part of what we see now. Japanese characters and China Chinese characters belong to the art of line, and also have the form of calligraphy. There are still some Chinese characters in Japanese characters. Therefore, Japanese calligraphy is only the skin of China, which is superficial and has little essence. I don't know if this answer will work.
