What kinds of silkworm medicine are there? What are their respective roles?

Silkworm drugs are mainly divided into disinfection, physiological regulation, insecticidal, repellent and antibiotic drugs.

(1) disinfectant. Disinfecting drugs refer to chemical drugs that can kill microorganisms on objects and make them harmless. According to the main components of disinfectants, they can be divided into aldehydes, chlorine preparations, lime, cationic surfactants, sulfur and sulfur-containing preparations. In production, these disinfectants have played a very good role in preventing diseases.

(2) Physiological regulating drugs. These drugs are mainly juvenile hormone and ecdysone. Ecdysone can regulate the growth and development of silkworm, which is mainly used to promote the silkworm to age and mature uniformly and be coated neatly. Juvenile hormone is a hormone that can maintain the characteristics of silkworm larvae and promote the development of adult ovaries. It can prolong the growth period of adult silkworms and increase silk production.

(3) pesticides. It mainly refers to drugs that can kill silkworm maggots and ants.

(4) repellent (boarding agent). In fact, insect repellents are widely used, such as peppermint oil repellent, lauryl alcohol repellent, heptaldehyde repellent, camphor oil repellent and Houttuynia cordata repellent.

(5) antibiotics. Substances produced by microorganisms (including bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes) that can inhibit or kill other microorganisms are now mostly synthetic products.
