The Wang Teng Pavilion in Langzhong, like the Wang Teng Pavilion in Nanchang, was built by Li Yuanying, the son of Li Shiming of Emperor Taizong, and Li Shiming was the son of Li Yuan of Tang Gaozu. According to records, Langzhong Wang Teng Pavilion was built in 662 AD, the second year of Li Zhilong's rule in Tang Gaozong. At that time, Wang Teng Li Yuanying was appointed as the secretariat of Longzhou, and Langzhong was the Senior Minister of State. Prior to this, when Li Yuanying was the commander-in-chief of Hongzhou (Nanchang), Wang Tengting was built in Nanchang in the fourth year of Li Zhiyong, Tang Gaozong, that is, in 653 AD, for him and his staff to climb high and have fun.
Du Fu lived in Langzhong twice during Li Yuguangde's reign, that is, in 763 and 764 AD, and went to Wang Tengting for many times to write poems, leaving behind "Jun Xie Ba Shan Tai, the ladder is still within reach" and "Today's people sing for grazing, I wonder if it will be returned here". Later, the pavilion experienced ups and downs and was repeatedly attacked by a weapon. The ancient buildings in the Tang Dynasty almost disappeared. After liberation, the people's government allocated special funds 1986 to restore the Wangtengting Pavilion in Langzhong at the site of the Tang Dynasty at the foot of Yutai Mountain on the Jialing River in the northern suburb of Langzhong.
After restoration, the main hall of Langzhong Wang Teng Pavilion was built on a 3.6-meter-high stone foundation, facing south, which is an antique double-eaved building. There is a pavilion in the east of the pavilion, and there is a row of cliff corridors of nearly 100 meters on its side. There are two grottoes, Yishen and Cimin, which were dug in the Tang and Song Dynasties. Langzhong has poems and stone carvings inscribed by cultural celebrities such as Du Fu, Huang Tingjian and Lu You. On the left side of the main hall stands a newly-built bronze statue of Zhang Fei, a general of Shu Han Dynasty. Reproduced his majestic posture in weizhen Langzhong. There is a stone pagoda in the Tang Dynasty in front of the main pavilion. Although it has gone through many vicissitudes, it is the best preserved monument in Langzhong Wangteng Pavilion.
