Publishing Research on Bamboo Slips from Chu Tombs in Guodian

In 1998, the Cultural Relics Publishing House published the book "Bamboo Slips from the Chu Tombs in Guodian" written by the Jingmen Municipal Museum. The preface of the book records that those who participated in the interpretation of Guodian Chu bamboo slips were Peng Hao (Jingzhou Museum), Liu Zuxin and Wang Chuanfu. The concatenation and annotation of the bamboo slips were undertaken by Peng Hao and Liu Zuxin. Peng Hao is responsible for the preparation of the whole book. Those responsible for the protection of bamboo slips are Fang Beisong (Jingzhou Museum) and Liu Xiong. Photos of the finishing work were taken by Jinling (Jingzhou Museum) and Zhou Guangjie. The photos used in the book "Guodian Chu Tomb Bamboo Slips" were taken by Hao Qinjian (Hubei Provincial Museum).

The ancient philologist Qiu Xigui reviewed the manuscript, combined some fragments of the manuscript, and arranged the order of the manuscripts except "Zhen Yi", "Five Elements", and "Lu Mu Gong Wen Zi Si". Adjustments were made and the division of the brief text was adjusted; for the explanations and annotations, in addition to direct corrections to technical issues, many revision suggestions and opinions for reference were also put forward. The author also included it in the notes in the form of "Qiu's note". At the end of 1994, "Hubei Daily" published the article "Another major discovery in the history of archeology in my country - the earliest bamboo slips "Laozi" and other classics were unearthed in Jingmen", which disclosed the relevant situation of Guodian bamboo slips for the first time; in July 1997, Guodian first The excavation report of tomb No. 1 was officially published; in May 1998, the book "Bamboo Slips from Guodian Chu Tomb" was officially published by the Cultural Relics Publishing House. Once this batch of materials was released, it immediately attracted great attention from the academic community. Academic seminars and symposiums were held in various places to conduct heated discussions on issues related to Guodian Bamboo Slips.

In May 1998, Damascus University in the United States held the world's first "Guodian "Laozi" Academic Symposium". The conference mainly focused on the research of "Laozi" and "Tai Sheng Shui", and some papers Included in the book "Guodian Laozi - Dialogue between Eastern and Western Scholars".

The "International Academic Symposium on New Bamboo Silk Books" held at Peking University in August 2000 was "a direct expansion and continuation of the 1998 conference."

In January 2001, Shaanxi Normal University organized the "Symposium on Guodian Chu Bamboo Slips and History and Culture".

In December 2003, on the tenth anniversary of the unearthing of the Guodian Chu Slips, the Jingmen Museum organized an "International Symposium on the Guodian Chu Slips", which was summarized as "New Knowledge on the Ancient Tombs - Commemorating Guo "Thesis Album on the Tenth Anniversary of the Unearthed Dianchu Slips" was published by Hong Kong International Yanhuang Culture Publishing House in November 2003.

In addition, in other bamboo slips and silk bamboo slips conferences, Guodian bamboo slips are still the focus of academic discussions. Liao Mingchun compiled the research literature (as of 2000) in the Catalog of Guodian Chu Blips (Revised Edition), which included 17 monographs (album) and 345 papers.
