The reason why giant pandas are called national treasures.

The giant panda has lived on the earth for at least 8 million years. It is a unique animal in China, so it is called "the national treasure of China". Known as the "living fossil" and the "national treasure of China", the giant panda is the image ambassador of WWF and the flagship species of biodiversity conservation in the world. According to the third national wild panda population survey, there are less than 1600 wild pandas in the world, which belong to the national first-class protected animals. By the end of 2011/the number of giant pandas in captivity in China was 333.

Giant pandas eat meat at first. After evolution, 99% of their food is bamboo, but their teeth and digestive tract remain intact and they are still classified as carnivores. When they are angry, they are as dangerous as other bear species. The life span of giant pandas in the wild is 18-20 years old, and they can be over 30 years old in captivity.

Existing: China (Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu); Extinction: China (Hunan, Hubei). Giant panda is an endemic species in China, and its distribution areas are Qinling, Minshan, Qionglai, Daxiangling, Xiaoxiangling and Liangshan. Qinling Mountains are distributed in the southern foothills, Foping is the main distribution county, Yangxian is the general distribution county, and Taibai, Ningshan Zhouzhi, Liuba and Ningqiang are only a few distribution counties. Minshan series is generally distributed in Sichuan except Wenxian County, Gansu Province.

The main counties in Sichuan are Pingwu Qingchuan and Beichuan, Jiuzhaigou, Songpan and Maoxian, and a few counties are Anxian, Mianzhu, Pengzhou, Shifang and Dujiangyan.

Qionglai Mountains are mainly distributed in Baoxing, Wenchuan and Tianquan counties. The general counties are Dayi and Lushan, and only a few counties are Qionglai, Chongzhou, Kangding and Luding. In addition to Hongya and Mianning, there are only several counties such as Yingjing, Shimian, Hanyuan and Jiulong in Xiangling. In addition to Mabian, Meigu and Yuexi, Liangshan has only Ganluo, Ebian and Leibo counties.
