How to set the binding line of a word page

For some official documents, important company materials, books and test papers, it is usually necessary to set binding lines for them. In Word, you can set a binding line on the left or top of the document according to actual needs, and after setting the default binding line, extra binding space will be reserved in the margin on the left or top of the document to be bound, so as to ensure that the later document text will not be covered by binding, and at the same time avoid the occurrence of page drop, which can be better sealed and sealed. Requirements: Add a binding line 3 cm from the top of the page.

Method 1:

1. Sets the margin of the gutter.

(1) Open the Word document and click the Expand button in the lower right corner of the Page Layout-Page Setup group.

(2) Open the page setup dialog box, select the margins tab, enter 3cm in the gutter value box, select the upper option in the gutter position drop-down list, and click OK.

(3) You can see the reserved blank binding line area at the top of the page.

However, the default binding line has no text and lines, only a blank binding line area, and then we need to manually add binding line lines and text.

2. Add binding lines and lines.

(1) Click the "Insert-Illustration-Shape" button and select the "Text Box" option in the pop-up drop-down menu.

(2) Draw a text box above the page where the binding line needs to be set, enter the binding line text in the text box, and enter the short horizontal line as the dotted line of the binding line.

(3) Keep the text box selected, click the button Format-Shape Style-Shape Outline, and select the command without outline in the pop-up menu to cancel the border line of the text box.

(4) At this point, you can see the effect of the set binding line.

Method 2:

There are more than one kind of text and lines used to add the gutter. We can also click the Insert-Shape button, select line insertion, and then set parameters such as line type, line thickness and color.

Then insert the text box to enter the text, and fill the text box with white, which can achieve the binding line effect similar to the above picture.

The method of deleting the binding line in Word is also very simple: Similarly, open the page setup dialog box, change the centimeter value of the binding line to "0", and then delete the binding line text and lines.
