It is suitable for blurred vision, poor vision, premature whitening, dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, dreaminess, soreness of waist and knees, nocturnal emission, thirst quenching, hot flashes and upset caused by yin deficiency of liver and kidney. It is often used with Eclipta prostrata, namely Erzhi Pill (Fang Ji). For those with internal heat due to yin deficiency and red eyes and painful eyes, it should be combined with nourishing yin, clearing liver and improving eyesight, such as Radix Rehmanniae, Concha Haliotidis and Jing Caojing. For quenching thirst due to deficiency of kidney yin, it should be combined with nourishing yin and tonifying kidney such as Radix Rehmanniae, Radix Asparagi and Rhizoma Dioscoreae. For those who are upset by hot flashes due to yin deficiency, they should be combined with Yin-nourishing and deficiency-heat herbs such as Sheng Di, Anemarrhena asphodeloides and Cortex Lycii.
Usage and dosage: decoction, 6 ~ 12g. Because the main ingredient oleanolic acid is insoluble in water, it is best to take pills.
