Xing Wu is the ancient name of Huzhou, Zhejiang. In the second year of Wu Ganlu in the Three Kingdoms (AD 266), Sun Hao, the Lord of Wu, changed Wu Cheng to Xing Wu County, with a jurisdiction equivalent to Huzhou City, Qiantang (now Hangzhou) and Yangxian County (now Yixing). The Sui Dynasty was renamed Huzhou because it was close to Taihu Lake, and Xing Wu was its county.
