Who invented the multiplication table?

The multiplication table of 1999 is China's great contribution to the world.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, China people invented the decimal system, and later invented the Jiujiu watch. Although the original founder of Jiujiubiao is still difficult to verify, formulas such as "3927", "684 18" and "483 12" can be found in ancient books, such as Xunzi, Guanzi and Huainanzi.

Jiujiubiao was later introduced to Korea and Japan in the east, India and Persia in the west through the Silk Road, and then became popular all over the world.

Jiujiubiao, also known as Jiujiuge and Jiuyinge, is the basic calculation rule in multiplication, division, square root and other operations in ancient China. It has been used for more than two thousand years. Pupils and some school-age children can recite it. But Europe didn't know this simple multiplication table until the beginning of 13 century.

The ancient western civilizations Greece and Babylon also invented the multiplication table, but it is more complicated than the 999 table. There are more than 1700 Greek multiplication tables invented by Babylon, and they are not complete enough. Because they worked hard to calculate multiplication and division before 13 century, people who can divide large numbers will be considered as experts in mathematics.

/kloc-At the beginning of the third century, the eastern calculation method was introduced to Europe through Arabs, and Europeans discovered its convenience, so they learned this new method. At that time, the topic of multiplying two numbers by a new method was the textbook of the university at that time.

In March of 20 15, after the multiplication table of 1999 was introduced into Britain, it was difficult to recite the formula because of different languages. The British version may be changed to "12× 12 multiplication table" after one lesson and one practice.

The multiplication formula (also called "Jiujiuge") has been produced in China for a long time.

As early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Jiujiu songs have been widely used by people. In many works at that time, some multiplication formulas have been quoted. The original 999 song begins with "998 1" and ends with "224", with 36 phrases. Bamboo slips unearthed in Han Dynasty and ancient wooden slips unearthed in Dunhuang all started from "998 1". The name "99" is the two words at the beginning of the formula.

During the 5th ~10th century, the formula of "99" was extended to "one to one".

About the Song Dynasty (1 1 and12nd century), the order of Jiujiu songs became the same as that used in modern times, that is, from "one for one" to "9981". Yuan dynasty (1206- 1368)

The 45 formulas contained in Zhu Shijie's book "The Enlightenment of Arithmetic" have changed from "1 1" to "99", also called the nine-number method. There are two kinds of multiplication formulas used now, one is 45 sentences, usually called Xiao Jiujiu; There is also a sentence of 8 1, which is usually called the big nine nine. According to the records in the book, The Great Nineteen Nine was first written by Chen Jie of the Qing Dynasty.
