General survey and excavation of paleontological fossils

In recent years, with the continuous expansion of the influence of geoparks, the enthusiasm for the general survey and excavation of paleontological fossils in our province is also rising, and many new and significant progress has been made.

As early as the end of 1990, Linqu County organized 25 authoritative experts from all over the country to hold a forum to demonstrate and agreed to carry out small-scale scientific research and excavation in Shanwang. Subsequently, he applied to National Cultural Heritage Administration and was approved. Following the principle of "protection first", excavations were carried out in 1993, 1995 and July 2000, with an excavation area of about 1000m2. In recent years, Shanwang paleontological fossils have been protected and not excavated.

Since 2008, Zhucheng has carried out four large-scale fossil surveys throughout the city. The dinosaur fossil corridor in Kugou is 600 meters long and the inclined depth of the rock stratum is 30 meters, and 7933 fossils have been produced. The dinosaur creek fossil uplift zone is 173m long and 20m wide, with * * pieces of dinosaur bones unearthed 1070; 2,850 dinosaur fossils are exposed in the Zangjiazhuang fossil accumulation area; Among the nearly 5,000 square meters of rocks exposed in Huanglonggou, there are more than 1000 footprints of dinosaur species, including ornithopods, theropods, sauropods, etc., with different shapes, sizes and depths. At present, more than 65,438+00 species of dinosaurs have been found in Zhucheng, including two species of hadrosaurs, two species of Tyrannosaurus Rex, four species of Ceratosaurus, Ankylosaurus and osteophytes. A complete and rare dinosaur skeleton was found in the dinosaur stream, and the relatively complete bones of Tyrannosaurus rex and Ankylosaurus, the largest in China, were found for the first time in Zangjiazhuang area, which was the first discovery outside North America. Large-scale dinosaur neck shield fossils have been found here, and some new dinosaur genera and species are being studied and identified.

Since 2008, Laiyang Municipal Government has been actively promoting the scientific research and general survey of dinosaur fossils. On April 20 10, Laiyang municipal government and vertebrate paleontology Institute of Paleoanthropology of China Academy of Sciences cleaned up and excavated the Qingdao Dragon site excavated by 195 1 Yang, and found nearly 30 dinosaur bones and a complete dinosaur egg. The site where the villagers in Dongtou village found dinosaur fossils was salvaged, and dozens of large dinosaur bones were found on two horizons. At the same time, hundreds of dinosaur fossils, eggshells, turtles and other fossil fragments were found and collected, and many isolated herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaur teeth were also found.

20 10 the Laiyang municipal government and the vertebrate paleontology institute of paleoanthropology, Chinese academy of sciences jointly carried out scientific research on the protection of dinosaur bones and egg fossils in Laiyang, and conducted a rescue excavation of the Jingankou dinosaur fossil site, and unearthed a large number of dinosaur bones and egg fossils. In 20 12, the project team composed of experts from Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and Shandong Academy of Geological Sciences carried out protective excavation of typical Cretaceous paleontological fossils in Laiyang, and completely unearthed different kinds of Laiyang biota (Jehol biota).

20 12 in order to better study and protect the paleontological fossil resources, according to the relevant provisions of the Regulations on the Protection of Paleontological Fossils, led by the Shandong Academy of Geological Sciences, assisted by the Institute of Geology of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and the xintai city Bureau of Land and Resources, a scientific research and protective excavation were carried out on the paleontological fossils in Ningjiagou. Through rescue excavation, paleontological fossil resources have been effectively protected.

In April of 20 13, Laiyang cooperated with vertebrate paleontology Institute of China Academy of Sciences and Paleoanthropology Institute to conduct dinosaur scientific research, and achieved a series of results: a large number of dinosaur bones and dinosaur eggs were found; The fossil horizon and its burial law are established. Many dinosaur bones and dinosaur eggs were found in rich areas and horizons. Confirm that the hadrosaur fauna and dinosaur egg fauna are * * * combined.

From 2002 to 2003, the National Stratigraphic Committee and China Geological Survey entrusted the national platform construction project team, which was attended by China Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences and Shandong Academy of Geological Sciences, to make many investigations and studies on the Jiulongshan section, and collected and identified the trilobite fossils in this area. From June 5438 to February 2003, Laiwu City started the "Geological Survey Project of Paleontology Fossil in Laiwu City". Through special geological survey, actual measurement of geological profile and collection and identification of paleontological fossils, the types and density distribution of trilobite fossils in CAMBRIAN strata are basically found out. Cambrian trilobite fossils * * * have 4 orders, 33 families 120 genera; And a large-scale algal column geological relic landscape was found in Niumazhuang. On the basis of investigation and study, three planned protection zones of paleontology fossils, namely Jiulong Mountain-Huangyang Mountain, Shengjing-Shengzhuang, Longkou West Village-Xiquan Guanzhuang, and three planned development zones of paleontology fossils, namely Nanluangong-Beiluangong, Shangchaye and Tumizi, were designated.

The excavation of silicified wood fossils in Jimo, Qingdao is mainly about 1500m2 around the existing silicified wood producing area, and the surface is cleaned. Large and typical silicified wood fossils should be protected in situ to ensure the original environment of the fossils as much as possible; Small sporadic silicified wood fossils after technical treatment are exhibited in the silicified wood exhibition hall.
