Wushan has dense forests, rugged rocks, caves and springs, rugged terrain and rich natural landscapes. For thousands of years, with the rise and fall of Hangzhou, Wu Shan has accumulated a great deal of history and culture in different periods. There are not only beautiful scenery, but also many places of interest. Historically, Buddhist, Taoist and folk temples dedicated to idols are all famous, such as Chenghuang Temple, Wang Yao Temple, Dongyue Temple and Baocheng Temple. In particular, the stone statue of Lama in Baocheng Temple in Yuan Dynasty was designated as "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit" by the State Council. Coupled with convenient transportation and strong popularity, Wu Shan has always been an important part of the West Lake Scenic Area and a big window to show Hangzhou's splendid history, culture and folk customs. Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty wrote poems praising Wu Shan's way:
Left controls the Yangtze River, right controls the lake,
Wanjia fireworks receive Kangqu.
I came to my head with empty hope,
It's like painting a sky show.
