Wei Chu Youcai (wei chu you cai)
Wei, the initial particle of the word, is commonly used in ancient books such as Wei, Wei, and Wei, such as "Wei Shi Yi" in "Book·Tai Shi" In 1655, King Wu attacked Yin Dynasty. "
In 1655, Lin Tianqing went to Wuchang Fuxue (now west of Jiefang Road and north of Dacheng Road) to worship Confucius. Students reported to him that Wuchang Fuxue was a provincial school in Hubei Province. top, but the school building is dilapidated. The students expressed their understanding of the country's temporary financial difficulties and were willing to donate their subsidies to repair the school building. With the strong support of Lin Tianqing, the repair project was completed two years later. According to "Hubei Tongzhi", after the completion of the Xinfu School, Lin Tianqing wrote down the visit of the students two years ago, and sighed sincerely: "I thought that Chu had talent, which I had envied since the old days. Moreover, I have received many edicts from the Qing Dynasty. How can we count the number of those who came before them and how many of them can be counted?" Since Lin Tianqing, Wuchang Fuxue "has been repaired in successive generations", and the words that attach great importance to cultivating "Chu Cai" can often be seen in Hubei Chronicles. . In 1732, Wang Shijun, the governor of Hubei Province, said that "Chu Cai has been famous all over the world for a long time" and hoped that "from now on Chu Cai will emerge in large numbers."
"Zuo Zhuan", also known as "Zuo Shi Zhuan in Spring and Autumn Period", was written in the Spring and Autumn Period, and "The Analects of Confucius" was also written in the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the Chu State had Hubei as its political center. The most powerful state of Chu for 400 years had its capital in Jingzhou, Hubei, so Hubei was also called Jingchu.
The only people who think that Hunan is the political center is Southern Chu during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It is obvious that the famous couplet of Yuelu Academy "Only Chu has talents, and it is prosperous here" is borrowed from the allusions of Chu State in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period. .
This is a typical collection of couplets. The first couplet "Only Chu has talents" comes from "Zuo Zhuan·Xianggong Twenty-Sixth Year". The original sentence is: "Although Chu has talents, Jin can use them." ,
The second line of "Yu Si is prosperous" comes from "The Analects of Confucius Taibo" "At the time of Tang and Yu, Yu Si was prosperous". Legend has it that during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Yuan Mingyao, the then mountain chief, wrote the first couplet, and Gongsheng Zhang Zhongjie wrote the second couplet. "Wei" here is a modal particle, "Only Chu has talents, and here is the most prosperous" means "Chu produces talents, and the talents here are the most prosperous."
However, since it is said to be "Chu Cai", it certainly comes from the Chu State and should have a close relationship with the talents of the Chu State. "Only Chu has talents" is transformed from "Although Chu has talents" and is extended by its meaning. Although there is one word difference between "although" and "wei", they are actually consistent in content. They both say that the Chu country (land) has talents, which is very consistent with historical facts and logical laws, so it has become a conclusion.
