Then why is eastern Shandong called "Jiaodong" instead of "Ludong"? There are actually several reasons.

First, Shandong is also a famous place in history. The saying about "Jiaodong" originated from the Qin Dynasty. After Qin destroyed the Six Kingdoms, a "Jiaodong County" was established "east of Qi" at that time, which is actually the present Shandong area. Why not call it "Ludong"? Because the extinct country at that time was Lu, Qin Shihuang did not want to name this place after an extinct country.

Later, Jiaodong was established in the Western Han Dynasty mainly because of Jiaodong River, because the ancients used to like to use famous mountains or rivers in local naming, and Jiaodong's glue originated from Jiaohe River, which is now the mother river of Shandong Province. Because the water quality is like glue, it is called Jiaohe, and Jiaodong since Qin dynasty, so it has been handed down from generation to generation. time
