Adapted from The Analects of Confucius, the original text is as follows:
People without faith don't know what they can do. Why can't the big car run away and the small car run away?
Explain in vernacular Chinese: a person is not trustworthy and doesn't know what to do. Just like a big car without ni (the key on the crossbar) and a small car without a gap (the key on the crossbar), how can I get there?
Extended meaning: warning the world that no matter what you do, you must have basic credit, so that you can gain a foothold in society.
Extended data:
In the Analects of Confucius, Confucius talked about "faith" many times. Disciples asked Confucius how to govern the country. Confucius said that he should do three things: "eat enough" and have enough food; "foot soldiers" have enough troops; "Enough faith" needs people's trust.
Disciple asked, if you have to remove an item, which one should you go to? Confucius replied: "Go to join the army". Disciple asked again, if there is one more thing that must be removed, which one should I go to? Confucius said, "Go and eat. People can't stand without faith. " It can be seen that in Confucius' view, gaining people's trust is more important than anything else.
