Has Kyle Poirot been to China?

Kyle Poirot and his story The Travels of Marco Polo have long been known to women and children. There are two main reasons why "positivists" at home and abroad affirm or admit that Kyle Polo has been to China: First, people have kindly explained Kyle Polo and The Travels of Marco Polo. On the other hand, the reason is that some contents recorded in The Travels of Marco Polo cannot be so detailed and specific without personal experience. Many scholars believe that Marco Polo's travels are repeating some well-known stories, such as Yuan Dynasty's expedition to Japan, Wang Zhu's rebellion, Xiangyang's return to the cannon, Persian envoys escorting Princess Kokejin and so on. However, some contents recorded in The Travels of Marco Polo surprised scholars. For example, according to The Travels of Marco Polo's record of Hangzhou, Hangzhou was called Hangzai at that time, which was the most beautiful city in the world, with prosperous business, with 12 industries and 12 households in each industry. There is a big lake (West Lake) in the city, 30 miles from Fiona Fang, with beautiful scenery. These records have been confirmed in ancient books such as Lin 'an Main Road Record and Meng Lianglu. Others, such as many bridges in Suzhou, many people in Hangzhou, Lugou Bridge and so on. The records of Marco Polo's travels are quite detailed, and these materials could not be obtained from hearsay under the historical background at that time.

However, the international Kelpolo School has formed two opposing factions, namely, the "affirmative faction" that affirmed Kelpolo's visit to China and the "skeptical faction" that suspected Kelpolo's visit to China. The two sides argued fiercely. In fact, this argument is of little significance. Speaking of Columbus, almost everyone knows that he discovered America. However, this is just the idea of our future generations. As far as Columbus himself is concerned, he thought to his death that he discovered India rather than America, so he insisted that the first land he saw near America during his voyage was the "West Indies". Columbus was not a liar, and Kyle Poirot didn't mean to lie. He may have only been to some countries in Central Asia. As Kronberg thought, he regarded these countries as China. But today, most people still believe that he has been to China.

Where is the solution to Kyle Poirot's problem? The key point is that we can't just study the so-called "Kyle Polo" in The Travels of Marco Polo. At present, scholars at home and abroad acknowledge that The Travels of Marco Polo has made great contributions to the development of communication between the East and the West. So why should we care who Kyle Poirot is? In fact, the name "Kyle Poirot" does not necessarily refer to a specific person, but to a group of pioneers in East-West traffic at that time. "Kelpolo" is synonymous with them, and The Travels of Marco Polo is a summary of their adventures at that time.
