Where is Yuntai Mountain?

Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area is located in Xiuwu County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, 30 kilometers away from Jiaozuo City, with a total area of 280 square kilometers. It is a popular science eco-tourism scenic spot characterized by the beautiful scenery of Taihang Mountain, with canyon-like geological landscape and historical culture as its connotation, and integrating scientific value and aesthetic value.

Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area includes Hongshi Gorge, Tanpu Gorge, Quanpu Gorge, Zifang Lake, Cornus officinalis Peak, Diecai Cave, Macaque Valley, Baijiayan and Wanshan Temple. The scenic spot is named after the steep mountains and the misty mountains and valleys all the year round.

The elevation of Cornus officinalis peak, the main peak of Yuntai Mountain, is1.297m, and the single-stage drop of Yuntai Waterfall at the end of Quanwaterfall Gorge in the scenic spot is 31.4m.. It is the largest waterfall in China and even in Asia, known as the highest waterfall in China, and is one of the landmark landscapes of Yuntai Mountain.

According to myths and legends, Ning Fengzi Tao Zheng Zhi, an official of the Yellow Emperor, gave the Yellow Emperor the skill of flying clouds. Self-immolation started with the smoke of five colors on the road, and the bones were buried in "Ningbei Mountain". This Ningbei Mountain is Yuntai Mountain in Xiuwu County now. Xiuwu County was called Ning in ancient times. Later, myths and legends called Pangu Mountain, Nuwa Mountain and Wuxing Mountain.

The Eastern Han Dynasty was generally called Taihang Mountain. Liu Xie, the last emperor, abdicated from Wang Wei and was buried at the southern foot of Yuntai Mountain, later known as Guhan Mountain. During the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Yuntai Mountain was friendly because of its "seven sages of bamboo forest", but ancient books only had the title of "bamboo forest". Yuntai Mountain in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Busan in the Tang Dynasty, Yuntai Mountain in the Jin Dynasty and Xiaobeiding in the Qing Dynasty. It is called Yuntai Mountain in the contemporary era, and the inherent title of Yuntai Mountain is restored.
