Tengchong is the throat of the ancient "Southwest Silk Road" and the main traffic artery in western Yunnan. The bells on the ancient border road rang leisurely on the long road. Dr. Sun Yat-sen once said, "Pathfinder is the mother of civilization and the pulse of wealth". The age, glory, hardship and grandeur of the caravan are epic in essence. It was the golden Tengchong brought by the caravan that promoted the exchanges between the southwest civilization, the Central Plains civilization and the world civilization. "Shu is poisonous", the crisp bell, wading through mountains and rivers, went to foreign countries, and cast a unique and extraordinary streamer with horseback and sweat. "When winter comes back, it snows in Korea. Summer and autumn want to return, no heat. If you want to come back in spring, you won't be able to do so. "

Tengchong has a unique jade culture and rich hot spring resources, but what impresses us most is the emergence of many cultural celebrities in Tengchong history, among which the roots of old Li Man are particularly legendary. Li Genyuan (1879- 1965) was born in Lianghe Jiubao and Gaoligongshan.
The July 7th Incident broke out 1937, and Japan invaded China in an all-round way. Leaning on the fence is full of clouds, don't be the palm of China's hand. Li Genyuan actively advocated anti-Japanese, was appointed as the Yunnan-Guizhou overseer, published the famous Letter to the Elder in West Yunnan and the long poem A Journey to West Yunnan, and organized and mobilized the soldiers and civilians in West Yunnan to rise up against the Japanese aggressors and go to Baoshan front to fight to the death. Tengchong people cooperated with the regular army and finally drove the Japanese invaders out of Tengchong in September 1944. This is a harbinger of China people's victory in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Li Genyuan is not only a famous patriotic politician, but also a famous scholar and poet. Among a large number of edited books, Zheng Wen in Yongchang Mansion is a masterpiece with *** 136 volumes and about 5 million words, which has high academic value.

Among the celebrities in Tengchong, Li Yuetai is very representative. Li Yuetai graduated from Shi Jing University in his early years and participated in the 1911 Uprising and the Yunnan Uprising to Protect the Country. He is a famous bourgeois democrat and revolutionary. Zhang Taiyan called him "a pen in southern Yunnan".
Li Yuexi's two sons are very famous: the eldest son Zhuang, engaged in the student movement, joined the China * * * production party, and later served as the second curator of Heshun Library; The second son, Ai Siqi, formerly known as Li Shengxuan, took an active part in the patriotic student movement as a teenager. He went to Japan twice to study, but both of them angrily abandoned their studies because of Japanese imperialism's invasion of China. Ai Siqi's Popular Philosophy is an introductory book of Marxist philosophy. Published by Shanghai Reading Life Publishing House, 1936. By February of 1948, 32 editions had been published, which had a great influence. Popular Philosophy expounds the basic problems of Marxist philosophy with examples of life around people, easy-to-understand language and lively forms, which makes the "new philosophy" begin to enter the masses of the people, win the favor of the vast number of young people, and guide several generations of progressive young people to the revolution.

We also visited Heshun, a famous historical and cultural town in Tengchong. As early as 2005, Heshun won the first place in China's charming town. Crossing the Double Hongqiao, the Heshun Library, which integrates Chinese and Western cultures, comes into view. Founded in 1928, formerly known as Xianxin Society in the late Qing Dynasty, 1924, a reading newspaper, 1934 has more than 20,000 books, which seems to be the information center of Tengchong in the 1930s: "1934, Mr. Yin Dadian, a returned overseas Chinese, donated his assembled radio to the library and listened to it with some local young people every night. The news of Japan's surrender in1945 was engraved on the' Three Records of Heshun Library Telecommunications' overnight, and the people in western Yunnan knew it for the first time through this' Three Records'. The late Qing Dynasty was an era when western learning spread to the east, old and new collided and new thoughts surged. India, Myanmar and other countries adjacent to Tengchong are under British colonial rule, so this place is the first in the atmosphere. According to the tour guide, this library has been formally compiled from germination and birth to 1979. Its construction funds, book collection and management depend on the strength of villagers and overseas Chinese. At present, there are only more than 70,000 books in the library, among which 1 10,000 books are ancient books such as Twenty-four History and Wuyingtang Juyi Series, which can be called "the first library in rural areas".
Tengchong has experienced many vicissitudes and accumulated rich and profound history and culture. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, bronzes and bronze drums condensed a splendid civilization of more than two thousand years. Tengchong people wrote a series of magnificent epics with courage and tenacity, which were touching. Especially in the 1930s and 1940s, Tengchong was an important town where Chinese expeditionary forces set out to repel the Japanese army. So far, there are many touching stories about the Flying Tigers, Hump Route and Stilwell Road, and there is also a memorial cemetery built by Tengchong people, which shows that people will never forget history and open up the future ...
