Is the word society a foreign word, right or wrong?
Sort of.
The word "society" in Chinese originates from ancient books, such as "village society" (Tang Dynasty) and "countryside society" (Song Dynasty). "She" refers to the god of the land, or a place for worship; "Hui" means a gathering. "Society" in English and "societe" in French are both derived from the Latin "socius", which means "partner". Japanese scholars translated the English word society into the Chinese character "society" during the Meiji period. Modern Chinese scholars adopted this term when translating Japanese sociological works.
So, it can be said to be a foreign language.
