Confucius is a descendant of Gongsun Jia, the kingdom of God. Some ancient people in our country took the "word" of their ancestors as their surnames, such as Uncle Ya of Lu Gongzi, whose grandson was called Uncle Chen. That's how Confucius took his surname. So the surname is Kong.
Why do people call Confucius "Kong Laoer"? It turned out that Confucius' father Shu was a general of Lu. He has nine daughters and a son. The only son here is a cripple. In that era when men were superior to women, Shu was certainly not satisfied. So he and his wife went to Niqiu Mountain in the southeast of Qufu and asked the gods to give him another son.
Later, as expected, Confucius was born again. Xu Geliang thought he got it on the mud hill, so he named him Kong Qiu and Zhong Ni. The word "middle" is ranking, which means "second". Because Confucius was the second son of Shu, people called him "Kong Laoer".
2. The origin of Li Bai's name
According to legend, Li Bai didn't have a formal name when he was seven years old. The reason is that he caught the book "The Book of Songs" when he was "grasping Zhou", which not only made his father happy, but also embarrassed him. He thought, if my son grows up to be a poet, wouldn't it be a pity not to have a good name? So the more I think about the poet's reputation, the more careful I am to name my son, so I haven't named him for many years.
This spring, Li Bai and his family were playing in the yard. His father wants to write a four-character poem in the spring and intends to test his son's ability. He recited two sentences: "Spring blossoms first." Then he said, "I can't think of the following poem." You and your mother will continue. "
Li Bai's mother thought for a moment and said, "Xinglin is blazing and rosy clouds are falling." As soon as the voice fell, Li Bai pointed to the plum tree and said, "Li Hua is in full bloom."
After hearing this, my father cheered again and again, and suddenly his heart moved: Isn't the first word of this poem his own surname? Doesn't this last word "white" mean that Li Hua is holy and elegant? So he immediately decided that his son's name was Li Bai.
