The river runs through the whole forest. There is a different kind of fish in this river. It has smooth and shiny scales, and it has a dream, that is, to swim to the source of the river and have a look, and even hope that Lao Dao will take it to become an immortal. Xiaoyu has a friend named Feng, and they are very close. He deeply knows Xiaoyu's dream. Just when Xiaoyu was discouraged, the old Taoist priest suddenly appeared, gave him a seed to eat and verbally encouraged him. When he left, he told Feng to take good care of Xiaoyu, because they had a deep fate and the old road disappeared from now on.
After a year of drought, the river dried up slowly, and the small fish was dying without water. Feng wants to help Xiaoyu, but he can't find water at all. In despair, he went to Lao Dao for help, only to find that the old Taoist priest had become an immortal. Feng finally found the place where he used to practice and found half a pot of water to drink, only to know that he was still late. When he came back, the little fish was dead and buried in a place facing the sun. Feng was heartbroken. He stood on a high hill and groaned, sprinkling water on the grave of the little fish. Whenever the sun goes down, he tells the story of hundreds of birds on the grave. When the sun rose, he continued to give strange names. A few days later, the immortal Taoist suddenly appeared in front of him.
With a flick of the sleeve of the old Taoist priest on the mound where the small fish were buried, a tree seedling grew up at a speed visible to the naked eye. It turned out that the old Taoist priest gave the fish not a panacea, but a buttonwood, which was buried in the soil after the fish died, and half a bag of water found by Feng was absorbed by the buttonwood. With a little aura of the old Taoist priest, the phoenix tree soon grew up. When the old Taoist priest left, he told Feng that as long as he stood on a high mountain and sang to the sun every day, the phoenix tree would grow up soon. Seeing the buttonwood grow up day by day, Feng jumped on the branches of the buttonwood and sang happily. Inspired by the old Taoist priest, Feng became the king of birds, and since then he has only lived on the buttonwood tree.
It is worth mentioning that the soul of the small fish has been integrated with the phoenix tree, so this phoenix tree is not simple. This legend was later used in a broad sense as "Phoenix flies without phoenix trees", and the phoenix is a combination of male and female, with the phoenix as the male and the phoenix as the female.
