The Institute of Science and Technology Archaeology of Fudan University was established in September, 2065438+2007, which is a key project of the school's double-class construction planning.
The institute has many laboratories such as environmental archaeology, stable isotope, plant archaeology and animal archaeology, and is preparing to build laboratories and databases such as ceramic archaeology and artifact archaeology. There are 8 full-time teachers, including 5 professors/researchers, associate professors 1 person, young associate researchers 1 person and lecturers 1 person. In addition, there are 2 postdoctoral researchers and research assistants 1 person.
Archaeology of science and technology is the study of applying natural science and technology to solve archaeological problems. Since 1978, Academician Yang took the lead in detecting the composition of Gou Jianjian. Fudan University has 40 years of experience in scientific and technological archaeology. After 2000, archaeology of science and technology is in the ascendant in China. Fudan University's scientific and technological archaeological team has also continuously expanded its research field.

The Institute has long-term cooperation with Fudan University, Shanghai Institute of Silicate of China Academy of Sciences, Zhejiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Jiangsu Institute of Archaeology, Shanghai Museum Archaeology Department and other archaeological institutions, and has established cooperative relations with Harvard University, Cambridge University, Liverpool University and University of Toronto Anthropology Department.
