1, the name evolution of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River
In ancient times, the Yangtze River was called Jiang Shui, and later it was called "Yangtze River" according to its characteristics. After the Six Dynasties, it was collectively called the Yangtze River.
The ancient Yellow River has a wide surface, abundant water and clear water quality. In China's oldest calligraphy book Shuo Wen Jie Zi, the Yellow River is called "River".
Due to years of war and excessive felling of trees, the Yellow River is turbid, and its downstream is called Turbid River or Yellow River, but it has not been generally recognized. It was not until the Tang and Song Dynasties that the name of the Yellow River was widely used.
