The history of Tangshan

Tangshan has a long history. As early as 40,000 years ago, human beings had already lived and worked. Shang Dynasty was an isolated bamboo country, Warring States was Yan Di, Han Dynasty was a secluded state, and Qing Dynasty belonged to Yongping Prefecture and Zunhua Zhili Prefecture in Zhili Province.

In the 19th year of Tang Zhenguan (645), Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, led an army to crusade eastward on the Korean Peninsula and returned via Tangshan. His beloved princess Cao Fei died unfortunately, and Li Shimin missed her beloved princess and gave it the name of Tang, hence Tangshan.

In the 24th year of Guangxu (1898), Qiaotou Town was renamed Tangshan Town because there was "Tangshan" in the north of the town, which was the beginning of Tangshan's administrative name.

In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), both Fufu and Zhou were called counties, and Tangshan belonged to Bohai Road, which was later changed to Jinhai Road.

In the 13th year of the Republic of China (1924), seven counties were assigned to Fengtian.

In July of the same year, * * * set up "Luanyu Administrative Supervision Department" and "Jimmy Administrative Supervision Department" in Jidong, covering 13 counties and all counties.

In the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935), Yin Rugeng, the administrative inspector of Luanyu and Jimi Districts, merged the two districts, and on 165438125 October, the pseudo-Jidong Defence Autonomous Committee was established. In the thirty-fifth year of the Republic of China (1946), in April, the * * * Committee of Hebei Province approved the establishment of Tangshan City, and on May 5 of the same year, Tangshan City was established.

In the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), Tangshan was liberated in February 12.

1984 15 February 15, the State Council approved Tangshan as one of the national 13 "big cities".
