Located in the west section of Chang 'an Avenue in Beijing, Capital Museum is a large comprehensive museum in Beijing. The exhibition hall also has the functions of collection, research and archaeology. There are five floors and two underground floors. The exhibition hall mainly displays Beijing's history and folk customs, and belongs to the municipal comprehensive museum in Beijing.

1. All exhibitions in the Capital Museum are open to the public free of charge.

Basic display

The Capital Museum mainly displays the history and folk customs of Beijing and faithfully records the details of Beijing's past and traditional life.

The history and culture of the ancient capital Beijing

It is located in Hall C on the second floor of the square exhibition hall.

Based on the profound Beijing culture and the evolution of the times, the exhibition shows the historical process of Beijing from primitive settlement to urban formation, from the political center of northern China to the capital of a unified multi-ethnic feudal country and the capital of the people of China.

"Beijing's history and culture" is the core of this paper. Its main purpose is to reproduce the magnificent historical picture of Beijing, explain the unique charm of Beijing culture, show Beijing's inheritance and promotion of China's traditional culture, and reveal the historical law that Beijing, as a multi-ethnic and multicultural city, has gradually become the capital and cultural center of China.

In content, six scenes, namely, Hailing King's moving to the capital, Jishuitan Wharf in Yuan Dynasty, Beijing Defence War, Shi Sheng Shijing (Beijing under Kang Yong), May 4th Movement and founding ceremony, are selected as the nodes connecting Beijing's history. This part shows 675 cultural relics and a large number of charts and photos. The cultural relics on display include stone tools, ceramics, bronzes, gold and silver wares, jade articles, fabrics, calligraphy and painting, furniture, rubbings and so on.

Old Beijing folk custom exhibition

Located in hall f, fifth floor of the exhibition hall of the square.

With the theme of "People in Hutong", the exhibition shows the life customs and etiquette of old Beijingers in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China by showing the marriage, childbirth and festivals in Hutong neighborhood.

"Old Beijing Folk Exhibition-"is set in the imperial city of Beijing, and the time schedule is from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China. The theme of the exhibition is embodied by Hutong and Siheyuan, two elements with the most Beijing folk characteristics.

1. Millennium Treasure-Beijing Ancient Pagoda Cultural Relics Exhibition

Located in Hall L on the sixth floor of the circular exhibition hall.

Since the founding of New China, Beijing cultural relics workers have carried out archaeological excavations on a few pagodas and pagodas left over from ancient Beijing on the principle of protecting and rescuing cultural relics, and cleared up a large number of Buddhist cultural relics. Here, some cultural relics of pagodas are selected for display to show the profound Buddhist cultural heritage and unique Buddhist cultural features of the ancient capital Beijing, as well as the development level of architecture, sculpture and various crafts.

Second, the ancient porcelain art exhibition

It is located in Hall E2 on the fourth floor of the square exhibition hall.

The exhibition fully shows the exquisite porcelain unearthed in Beijing and handed down from generation to generation, reflecting the development history of ancient ceramics in China and the development track of Beijing at that time, and embodying the historical features of ancient ceramic art in China, a Chinese treasure.

Third, the ancient jade art exhibition

Located in Hall K on the fifth floor of the circular exhibition hall.

This exhibition reflects the development history and artistic characteristics of Beijing jade from the perspective of displaying Beijing jade culture.

"Ancient Jade Art Exhibition" focuses on revealing the historical development of jade cultural relics. According to the current academic research status of jade cultural relics, combined with specific cultural relics, through the vertical time of jade craft development and the arrangement and combination of different types of jade in the horizontal direction, the basic context of jade development is shown to the audience, reflecting the technological characteristics of jade development in different periods. The exhibition is divided into three parts, showing 18 1 cultural relics. There are a large number of jade articles unearthed from the tombs of princes and nobles, as well as jade articles printed with the emperor's annual money and engraved with imperial poems, which highlight the cultural characteristics of Beijing as the capital. At the same time, based on the principle of people-oriented, a list of main jade materials in ancient China and a schematic diagram of some jade materials were set up to help the audience understand the contents of the exhibition. In order to highlight jade, point light source is used for directional lighting to reproduce the warm color beauty of jade, and the color temperature is based on the restoration of real color.

Fourth, Yan Di Bronze Art Exhibition.

Located in Hall J on the fourth floor of the circular exhibition hall.

It shows Beijing's unique bronze culture, its historical position in China's ancient ethnic integration and cultural exchange, and the multiculturalism of Beijing's bronzes.

"Yan Di Bronze Art Exhibition" focuses on the bronze culture of Yan State, and shows the earliest bronze art in Beijing from the aspects of casting technology, modeling and decoration. The exhibition is divided into two parts, showing 132 cultural relics. Beijing's splendid ancient bronze art and the superb skills of ancient craftsmen are displayed from the aspects of exquisite casting technology, strange and vivid modeling and exquisite ornamentation.
