The founding background of Lize College

Lv Zuqian formulated learning rules for Li Ze Bookstore, and took "filial piety, faithfulness, openness and dedication" as the basic criteria. Students who "separate, don't bury their relatives, get together for funeral, sue for money, infringe on public property, make a scene, and wander around" will be expelled from the school. He also compiled textbooks such as Donglai Zuoyi (25 volumes) and Jin (14 volumes) for the bookstore. The aim of the academy is "stressing the purpose of classics, being reasonable and seeking truth from facts". The teaching adopts the methods of individual study, mutual questions and answers, and collective explanation, and the discussion is very strong. The college teaches 2-3 times a month and holds an exam every year. There are 89 direct disciples of Lv Zuqian, including Lv Zujian, Lou Yun, Qiao Xingjian, Wang Han, Qi Ruhu, Wang Shenyuan and Li. In the eighth year of Xichun (1 18 1), Lv Zuqian died, and Lize Bookstore was presided over by his brother Lv Zujian.
