The traditional historical materials that record the pre-Shang lineage and the Shang king lineage are "Historical Records·Benji of the Five Emperors" and "Historical Records·Benji of Yin"
The existence of the Shang Dynasty was truly confirmed by later historians. Mainly through two major discoveries, on the one hand, oracle bone inscriptions, and on the other hand, the archaeological excavation of the old capital of the Shang Dynasty. The discovery of oracle bone inscriptions had to wait until the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. It is said that the existence of oracle bone inscriptions was discovered after receiving a traditional Chinese medicine called "dragon bone" in a medicine shop and discovering regular marks engraved on it. Wang Guowei, a master of traditional Chinese culture, compared the inscriptions recording the names of Shang kings based on oracle bone inscriptions one by one with the "Historical Records: Benji of the Five Emperors" and "Historical Records: Benji of Yin", which record the pre-Shang lineage and the Shang king lineage in traditional historical materials. He found that it was circulated on the ground Historical materials and underground archaeological relics echo each other, confirming that the records of the Shang Dynasty lineage in "Historical Records" are basically conclusive.
