2 Job Responsibilities

(1) Implement the guidelines, policies, laws and regulations of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on ethnic and religious work. Organize and carry out investigations and research on major issues in ethnic and religious theories, policies and work, study the current situation of religion at home and abroad, be responsible for the summary and analysis of religious trends and information, and put forward policy recommendations.

(2) Draft local ethnic and religious laws, regulations and policies, and be responsible for the publicity and education of ethnic and religious laws, regulations, rules and policies and the supervision and inspection of their implementation.

(3) Responsible for coordinating and promoting relevant departments to perform their duties related to ethnic work, promoting the implementation and connection of ethnic policies in areas related to economic development and social undertakings, and providing professional guidance for ethnic work in the government system.

(4) Study and put forward work suggestions for coordinating ethnic relations, coordinate and handle major issues in ethnic relations, protect the legitimate rights and interests of ethnic minorities, undertake the provincial government’s ethnic unity and progress commendation activities, and promote the unity of all ethnic groups Struggle with unity, achieve common prosperity and development, and safeguard national unity.

(5) Participate in the formulation of development plans for economic and social areas related to ethnic minorities and ethnic minority areas, and strengthen supervision and inspection of the implementation of relevant plans. (9) Guide religious groups to carry out activities in accordance with laws and regulations, support religious groups in strengthening their own construction, help religious groups run religious colleges and universities, and promote religious groups to carry out patriotism, socialism, and support for the motherland in the religious circles. Unify and self-educate ethnic groups and handle matters related to religious groups that need to be resolved or coordinated by the government.

(10) Guide the ethnic and religious affairs departments of lower-level governments to perform management functions in accordance with the law, handle major events in religious affairs, prevent illegal and illegal activities using religion, and resist infiltration activities using religion from abroad.

(11) Responsible for the centralized management of foreign affairs in the field of religion, organizing and guiding the religious exchange activities of relevant departments and religious circles with the outside world and with Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan; organizing and coordinating the external and religious exchange activities of relevant departments and ethnic and religious circles.
