On April 28th, Shanghai Shipyard Workers' Federation and Electrician Workers' Federation issued a labor memorial declaration: "We Shanghai workers will hold an unprecedented May Day this year, because May 1 is a happy day for workers all over the world to go to work at 8 o'clock."
On May 1 day, Peking University held the "May 1" International Labor Day Commemorative Conference in the morning, attended by more than 500 principals and students. On the same day, more than 5,000 workers in Shanghai were initiated by seven groups including the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce to hold the World Labor Memorial Conference, which was blocked and interfered by the military and police. Workers from Guangzhou and Hong Kong held a May Day commemorative meeting in Guangzhou and held a lantern party that night. More than 50,000 people marched along the street, more than 3,000 workers and students in Shantou also held a lantern party, and workers in Jiujiang, Jiangxi held a commemorative meeting, and 30 million workers took part in the demonstration. On the same day, New Youth, Volume 7, No.6 was published, which included 33 pictures of workers' lives, with workers' autographs 12, and published the article "Labor History of May Day" by Mr. Li Dazhao, introducing the origin of May Day and the commemorative situation in various countries. This is the first time that China newspapers commemorate International Labor Day, and Sun Yat-sen is the "Labor Day Memorial" in this issue.
