Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is located in Jinan City, Shandong Province.

The predecessor of the school is the Research Class of Shandong Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine founded in 1955 and the Shandong Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School founded in 1956. In 1958, Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People's Committee. In 1996, it was renamed Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the approval of the National Education Commission.
