Although Historical Records is a historical book, its literary achievements are quite high. The ancient prose movement advocated by Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan is to learn Historical Records. In the Song Dynasty, Ouyang Xiu also learned the essence from Historical Records. When I was reading Mr. Qian Mu's Essays on China Culture, I saw his comments on Water Margin. He thinks that the Water Margin can achieve such great achievements, and his writing reflects the Historical Records. Anyone who has read historical records knows that the sword shadow at the Hongmen banquet and the elegy of Xiang Yu under the cover all have an immersive feeling.
The second is to read the tongjian theory.
Few people know this book, because in our time, a lot of time to read classics is occupied by fragmented reading. The author of this book is Wang Fuzhi. Wang Fuzhi was sixty-nine years old when he wrote this book, four years before his death. He wouldn't have died so fast if he hadn't worked hard to write and read the theory of tongjian. This book is Wang Fuzhi's experience in reading Zi Tong Zhi Jian, but it is very wonderful. When it comes to one thing, it can not only be quoted, but also published by predecessors. It reads heartily, as the ancients said: Hanshu can drink alcohol. Then this book can also be drunk.
Thirdly, it is the pipe taper.
This is Qian Zhongshu's painstaking book, and it is also his most satisfactory book. Mr. Qian worked hard when he wrote this book, but he had a desk, which he wrote in the daytime and slept at night. This book is his notes on reading ancient books. Although it was written in the 1970s, it was written in classical Chinese. We can see not only Mr Qian Zhongshu's talent, but also his love for China culture.
These three books are all books I read recently. Let me briefly introduce them. There are many books, limited by space, so they can only be listed. The first four histories are excellent works both in writing and conception. Every book of the pre-Qin philosophers is full of literary talent, and I personally recommend Zhuangzi. Mr. Zhang Taiyan wrote a book entitled "Qiu Shu", which is a summary of his life thoughts and China culture, with elegant words and sharp writing.
