Zhangzi County is located in the southeast of Shanxi Province, on the west side of Shangdang Basin, with an area of 1.029 square kilometers, governing 5 towns, 18 townships, 399 administrative villages, with 36,000 hectares of cultivated land and a population of 350,000. history
There is an ancient area in Zhangzi County. As early as more than 5,000 years ago, Shennong, the ancestor of the Chinese nation, conducted experiments on growing grain here and taught people to farm. In the Yao and Shun era, Yao's eldest son was sealed here, hence the county name. During the 400 years of Qin and Han Dynasties, the eldest son city was ruled by Shangdang County, and in the Sixteen Countries of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Murong Yong proclaimed himself the capital of Xiyan. The Northern Wei Dynasty was still the eldest son county, and the Northern Qi Dynasty was abolished. In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty, he was sent to Shi County for treatment, and in the eighteenth year of Emperor Kai, he was renamed the eldest son county. Since then, the county name has not changed from generation to generation.
