In the Ming Dynasty, Shouzhou belonged to Fengyang House in Nanzhili. In the second year of Hongwu in Ming Taizu (AD 1369), Shouzhou Zhili was transferred to Zhongshu Province in the capital. In four years, Shouchun, Anfeng and Cai Xia counties in the province merged into Shouzhou, which was led by two counties and transferred to Lin Hao House (later changed to Fengyang House).
