Wen Yiduo devoted himself to the study of China ancient literature. He started from the Tang poetry, and then traced it back, from the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties to the Songs of Chu, and from Zhuangzi to the Book of Changes. His research on four ancient books, I Ching, The Book of Songs, Zhuangzi and Chu Ci, shifted from ancient mythology to prehistoric literature. At the same time, he also studied ancient philology, phonology and folklore.
On this basis, he published the following research results:
Revision of Songs of the South (Study of Classical Literature)
Myth and Poetry (Classical Literature Studies)
Classic new meaning
Collection of Tang Poems (Classical Literature Studies)
Wen Yiduo on Classical Literature
