The Journey to the West of Jinling Shidetang in Ming Dynasty (hereinafter referred to as "World Edition") is the best copy of all kinds of ancient books in The Journey to the West, and four sets have been preserved so far. One set has been published in China, and the other three sets are hidden in Japan, but not made public. There are missing pages and scattered handwriting in the domestic world edition, so we can make textual research on other editions of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Mr. Hu Shi once prefaced Mr. Chen Yuan's collating instructions: "Collating rare books is the soul and the only way for collating." The Journey to the West, as one of the four classical novels, has many versions that have been passed down to later generations. Some versions have not been carefully collated, and even passed from one version to another, full of mistakes.

This edition of The Journey to the West, Sanqin Publishing House is based on the edition of Jinling Shidetang published in Ming Dynasty, and refers to the commentary edition, Zhu edition, Yang edition, Tang Priest edition, Yang Minzhai edition and Minzhaitang edition in Ming Dynasty, as well as the truth-telling edition, truth-telling edition (Cui Yun Kangxi edition, Qianlong forty-five years edition and Huaixinlou edition), new edition, original edition and original edition in Qing Dynasty.
