In the history of our country, many emperors, except the Mausoleum of the Yuan Dynasty and the Dry Mausoleum of Wu Zetian, are still well preserved, and most of the rest have been visited by grave robbers. In the 1950s, several people in the cultural circles jointly wrote a letter to excavate the Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty, which was later approved. At first, they wanted to excavate the Changling Mausoleum of Judy in Ming Taizu, but because of their unsatisfactory work, they turned their attention to the Dingling Mausoleum of Emperor Wanli.
Emperor Wanli was the longest-serving emperor in the Ming Dynasty. He reigned for 48 years, but he lived in seclusion for 28 years and never went to court. Many things are communicated by giving orders. After the excavation began, the archaeological team found the entrance of Wanli when he entered the customs. Suzuki inside consists of a front hall, a middle hall and a back hall. There is also a stone carved dragon chair in the middle hall, and
Later, archaeologists opened Wanli's coffin. The coffin was uneven and the gold quilt covered on it had rotted, so archaeologists began to clean up the contents of the coffin. It was not until the 17 floor that the remains of Emperor Wanli were discovered. The body has been highly decomposed, leaving only the skeleton, holding a string of prayer beads in his hand, but his right leg is slightly bent, while his left leg is straight, with two corners set aside outward. Only then did I know that his leg was really disabled.
