What is the relationship between Fuxi and Nuwa?

The relationship between Nuwa and Fuxi has been recorded in the "Customs" of the Han Dynasty: "Nuwa, Fuxi's sister". Until the early Tang Dynasty, it was believed that Nuwa was Fuxi's sister. From the Duyi Zhi written by Li Kang of the Tang Dynasty, it is recorded: "Fuxi and Nuwa were brothers and sisters living in Kunlun Mountain. When the universe was open, there were no people. They wanted to get married, but they felt ashamed. So he asked the sky for instructions. At this time, the sky sent two puffs of smoke into the sky and merged into one, indicating that Fuxi and Nuwa were united, so the two became husband and wife."

This is Fuxi and Nuwa being husband and wife. According to the earliest legend, both Fuxi and Nuwa had human heads and snake bodies. The image of Fuxi and Nuwa painted in the Astana tomb at the former site of Gaochang in the Sui Dynasty is in the form of two people holding rules and rules, with a human head and a snake body mating together. The paintings on ancient tombs found in Sichuan, Henan, Jiangsu and other places basically have this image.
