Who wrote the collection?

Ouyang Xiu, the author of Collection of Ancient Records, was a famous politician and writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. In his early years, he supported Fan Zhongyan's reform, but opposed Wang Anshi's young crops law, which was politically conservative. He is a representative figure of the ancient prose movement in the Northern Song Dynasty and one of the "Eight Masters in Tang and Song Dynasties" in prose.
