What are the historical allusions in Tongcheng?

1 Liuchi Lane

Liuchi Lane is located in Tongcheng City, Anhui Province.

There are allusions, poems are well written and widely circulated! It's my favorite!

In the hometown of Tongcheng School-the southwest corner of Tongcheng City, Anhui Province, in the Prime Minister's House on the West Ring Road in the urban area (in the provincial rehabilitation hospital). Liuchi Lane starts from West Backstreet in the east and reaches Baizitang in the west. The south of the lane is the Prime Minister's Mansion, and the north of the lane is the Wu Mansion, with a total length of 100 meters and a width of 2 meters, all paved with pebbles.

According to Tongcheng County Records, in the Qing Dynasty (Kangxi period), the bachelor of Wenhua Temple and the minister of rites had a dispute with the neighbor Wu family because of the homestead problem. His family flew to the capital and asked Zhang Ying to say hello to "solve" the Wu family. Zhang Ying returned to her mother's house with a doggerel, "A thousand miles to write a book is only for the wall, why not let him be three feet?" . The Great Wall of Wan Li is still there today, but I haven't seen Qin Shihuang. "The family saw the book and took the initiative to give in three feet on the disputed line and built a wall. Wu, a neighbor, was also deeply moved. He retired three feet to build a house and set up a courtyard, so there was a six-foot wide alley between the walls of two families. This is the origin of Liuchi Lane.

Chairman Mao told this story when he met with the Soviet ambassador to China Eugene after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Speaking of these four poems, he often expressed that things between the two countries should be humble and equal. It's just that what we saw later was not like this.

Tolerance and equality, as a virtue, has been advocated in ancient China, but not many people can really do it, especially when it comes to their own vital interests. People who are broad-minded, far-sighted and polite are respected at all times. In today's materialistic world, where money and power are at the forefront, it seems more necessary to advocate this virtue.

This hutong exists in Tongcheng. As a cultural heritage of China, it has witnessed the virtues of harmony and humility of the Chinese nation.

Liuchi Lane is already a tourist attraction in Tongcheng Ancient City. In April 2007, "Tongcheng Confucian Temple-Liuchi Lane" became a national 3A-level tourist attraction.
