Vietnamese ancient books are scarce.

There is no doubt that South Korea and Vietnam belong to the circle of Chinese civilization and are deeply influenced by Chinese culture in their bones. You may be curious that Vietnamese and Koreans are deeply influenced by China culture, especially Chinese characters. The ancient books in China are written in Chinese characters, which are beyond recognition by young people in our country. Then, South Korea and Vietnam have abolished Chinese characters for many years, will they be restored? I don't think so.

First, abolishing Chinese characters is a time-consuming and laborious national project, which is very difficult. Take South Korea as an example, it took nearly half a century to abolish Chinese characters and change them into Korean. From 65438 to 0948, Korean nationalist forces rose, and the Law on Special Proverbs was promulgated and implemented, which marked the official abolition of Chinese characters in Korea. However, from the beginning to the complete abolition, the problem of Chinese character education for primary school students has experienced considerable fluctuations. During the retrocession of Li Chengwan, Chinese character education in primary schools was once resumed. In the park chung-hee era, 1970 was officially abolished.

After many years, Korean folks have been swinging between abolition and restoration, but there is no intention to restore Chinese characters at the national level in Korea. After all, it is hard to promote Korean throughout the country. South Korea abolished Chinese characters, not to mention Vietnam.

Second, the use of Chinese characters in Korea, Vietnam and Japan is different, so it is inevitable to abolish Chinese characters. South Korea and Viet Nam, which are directly adjacent to China, have been vassals of China for a long time, and they often have nasty relations with the Central Plains Dynasty. From the national level, it is not easy to accept Chinese characters emotionally. Take Vietnam as an example. The Ancient History of Vietnam published by Vietnam Government Press clearly points out that "the history of Vietnam is a history of China's aggression". In addition, during the French colonial period, Vietnam vigorously promoted Latin characters and suppressed Chinese characters. Therefore, the education of Chinese characters in Vietnam was interrupted for a long time after the founding of Ho Chi Minh, and it was a last resort to abolish Chinese characters and practice Latin. The situation in South Korea is similar to that in Vietnam. As early as the Sejong period, "teaching people the right voice" was put forward, which is a proverb used in South Korea today. After Korea's independence, it is natural to promote proverbs.

In addition, Japan's ability to retain Chinese characters is the result of compromise between Meiji Restoration and conservative forces, and more consideration is given to protecting its own culture. Moreover, Japan is a country that is good at learning. Because it faces each other across the ocean in history, it is rarely directly attacked by the Central Plains Dynasty. It is reasonable that Emperor Meiji and his ministers remain rational and Chinese characters can be preserved.

Third, South Korea and Vietnam have abolished Chinese characters for more than 70 years, and they will be restored at the national level, which will encounter great political resistance at home and lack the soil for restoring Chinese characters. Ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign, a country's writing is the foundation of the nation. Using other languages easily is tantamount to retrogression.

Generally speaking, decision makers in South Korea and Vietnam will not restore Chinese characters. However, it is undeniable that because the geographical location of the two countries is close to China, the economic, cultural, scientific and technological fields will inevitably be influenced by China, and Chinese character education will also be retained in colleges and universities to cultivate Chinese talents and feed back the development of China.
