Shanghai Museum has two entrances, the south entrance faces Vu Thang Road and Yan 'an Road, and the north entrance faces People's Square and the municipal government building. At present, the museum has eleven special pavilions:
On the first floor are China Ancient Bronze Museum and China Ancient Sculpture Museum.
The second floor is the ancient ceramics museum in China and the temporary building ceramics museum;
The third floor is China Painting Museum, China Calligraphy Museum and China Seal Museum.

Shanghai Museum is one of the few large museums in the south of China, with a collection of120,000 pieces. The museum collects historical relics from different dynasties all over the country, especially ancient bronzes, pottery, calligraphy and paintings. Among them, Dakeding in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhongjiangpan in the Spring and Autumn Period, Gaoyitu in the Tang Dynasty, and Duck's Head Pill Post in Wang Xianzhi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty are all world-renowned national treasures.
