According to ancient documents, Dayu became the King of Xia after he succeeded in controlling water. At that time, Dayu divided the world into nine States with mountains and rivers as the boundary. Later, during the Warring States Period, Kyushu became a symbol of China, and it was not until the Jin Dynasty that it gradually evolved into a land of Han. Although Kyushu began to spread thousands of years ago, the name and geographical scope of Kyushu are not static, because with the continuous development of Han people, the residential area is also expanding outward, so the specific location and geographical scope of Kyushu are different in different periods, and even the specific name of Kyushu has changed. ?
Kyushu first appeared in the ancient books of the Qin Dynasty. The Book of History Yugong records that Kyushu is Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Jingzhou, Yangzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou, Jizhou, Yongzhou and Yizhou respectively. In the Warring States Period, Erya, Liangzhou and Yongzhou were changed to Youzhou and Yingzhou. However, according to Zhou Lizhong, Xuzhou and Liangzhou did not exist in the Zhou Dynasty, but Jizhou divided you and Bing. Later, according to historians' research, Kyushu was divided into nine regions only for the convenience of managing land and population in ancient times, and as can be seen from the only remaining ancient documents, Kyushu appeared in the documents of the Warring States period, so the name and geographical area of Kyushu recorded in Shangshu are the most accurate version in later generations.
Finally, although the name and region of Kyushu are different in different dynasties, future generations will still take Gong Yu, the official who recorded Kyushu as the earliest, namely Qingzhou, Xuzhou, Jingzhou, Yangzhou, Yuzhou, Liangzhou, Jizhou, Yongzhou and Yizhou respectively.
