In the late 20th century, six groups of combinations were continuously found on unearthed cultural relics. Three important scholars from the Institute of History of China Academy of Sciences (there was no Academy of Social Sciences at that time) gradually broke through in their understanding and were recognized by Zhang as a form of divination.
1, the first breakthrough understanding: 1956 Li Xueqin guessed the general direction.
1950 There are three groups of such symbols in Oracle Bone Inscriptions of Shang Dynasty unearthed in Sipanmo, Anyang, Henan Province, and two groups of such symbols in Oracle Bone Inscriptions of Western Zhou Dynasty unearthed in Zhangjiapo, Chang 'an, Shaanxi Province. These two findings are very important for later research.
Li Xueqin guessed in 1956 that this symbol seems to be related to the number 96 in Zhouyi.
2. The second breakthrough: 1957 Tang Lan recognized most of the figures.
1957, Tang Lan, a famous ancient philologist, wrote "A Lost China Ancient Character Seen in Oracle Bone Inscriptions", which clearly pointed out that Oracle Bone Inscriptions was composed of numbers such as one, five, six, seven and eight ("two" was misinterpreted), and he thought that the number group was composed of numbers, which was "the characters of nationalities other than Yin and Zhou Dynasties". Reasonable factor is a breakthrough in understanding.
1950 four sets of grinding Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Yin Ruins, which he interpreted as "787,676 Yue Kui" and "757,666 Yue Kui". Zhang and others accepted Tang's explanation.
3. The third breakthrough: 1978 Zhang recognized it as divination.
Zhang is a researcher who mainly studies ancient literature. Later, he served as the director of the ancient books research office of the Institute of History, China Academy of Social Sciences, and/kloc-0 held an academic seminar on the study of ancient Chinese characters in China in Changchun in February, 1978. The publication of the essay "Ancient Divination and Wang Yi" has attracted academic attention. In the paper 1980, he concentrated on expressing a new understanding.
Zhang's pioneering work has opened up a research field of digital hexagrams.
Zhang likes to call numbers, and ordinary literati like to call numbers hexagrams.
