Jade has a wide variety of colors and shades, which can be roughly divided into the following categories according to color shades:
Green series: dark green, green, green, grass green, light green.
Yellow series: orange yellow, lemon yellow, yellow, light yellow.
Black series: ink, black, cyan, dark gray, gray, light gray.
White series: milky white, mortar white and colorless.
Mixed color series: dark green, yellow green, green yellow, yellow white, white yellow and gray.
Flower language series: red texture, brown texture, orange texture and yellow texture.
Among various color series, green series is the best, followed by yellow. To evaluate the quality of color, we should observe and analyze it from four aspects: concentration, purity, vividness and uniformity.
Concentration refers to the depth of color. Generally speaking, medium concentration is the best, too deep or too shallow.
Purity refers to the purity of hue. Mixing with other colors is impure, or color cast. Obviously, the purer the hue, the better, and the worse the color mixing.
Brightness refers to the lightness of color, also known as color yang. Of course, the higher the brightness, the better
Uniformity refers to the uniformity of color distribution. Generally speaking, the more uniform the color, the better the uneven it is, but some jade varieties are not like this, such as flowers and jade, which are often composed of red, brown, orange and yellow tones and varied patterns to form a strange and beautiful picture, which is even more precious.
(2) Look at transparency
Transparency is more important for jadeite, because most single crystal gems are transparent, with little difference, while Wang Shi is not. Transparency varies greatly, most of them are opaque, slightly transparent or translucent, and a few are transparent or sub-transparent, so good transparency is more precious. A prominent feature of Xiuyan serpentine jade is its high overall transparency, which is not only higher than other serpentine jade kings in other areas, but also higher than other kinds of jade. According to the statistics of various jade carvings in the market, most of them are sub-transparent or translucent, a few are transparent and slightly transparent, and a few are opaque. The reason why Xiuyu is called the four famous Wang Zhiyi in China should be said that transparency has played a key role.

(3) Look at the texture
The finer the texture of jade, the better and more uniform it is. Jade is a polycrystalline aggregate, and the size of crystal particles determines the fineness and roughness of jade, that is, the smaller the crystal particles, the finer the jade, and the larger the crystal particles, the rougher the jade. Generally observed with the naked eye, if there is obvious graininess, the jade is rough; If there is no graininess, it means that jade is a fine product; If there is no graininess under the magnifying glass of 10 times, it means that this jade is very fine.
Generally speaking, the texture of jade is mostly delicate, and a few are slightly rough. Texture, transparency and polishing are directly related, that is, the finer the texture, the higher the transparency, the better the polishing, the stronger the surface reflection, which increases the aesthetic feeling of jade and improves the quality of jade. On the contrary, the rougher the texture, the worse the transparency and the worse the polishing performance, which reduces the quality of xiuyan jade. ?
