What are the concrete achievements of the first complete excavation of the Ouyao site in Tang Dynasty?

"Ou" is another name for Wenzhou, hence the name Ou Kiln from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Song Dynasty.

According to relevant sources, during the excavation of Tantou Site in Yongjia County, Wenzhou this year, they found the year of "eleven years of Dazhong" on a sagger, the word "jade" on another sagger and the word "official bowl" on a porcelain bowl, which is of directional significance for studying the management system of kiln industry in Tang Dynasty.

Historically, the official kilns in the Song Dynasty and the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties were very famous, and the production of exquisite porcelain used in the court at that time was more like a "imperial kiln" to some extent. Before the Song Dynasty, there were still many unsolved mysteries about how the government managed porcelain kilns.

Approved by National Cultural Heritage Administration, the excavation was jointly carried out by Zhejiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Wenzhou Institute of Cultural Relics Protection and Yongjia County Cultural Relics Museum, with an excavation area of nearly 1000 m2.

Tantou Site is located in Xia Long Village, Sanjiang Street, Yongjia County, and nanxi river enters the mouth of Oujiang River. Archaeologists discovered a dragon kiln built on a mountain, as well as rich workshop relics and sacrificial relics, and also unearthed a large number of high-quality celadon and various kiln furniture.
