One of the landmark buildings in Ningbo is the earliest existing private library in China. Built in the Ming Dynasty, it was originally the collection of Fan Qin, the retired right assistant minister of the Ministry of War. There are nearly 300,000 volumes of ancient books, especially the local chronicles and imperial examinations of the Ming Dynasty.
2. Baoguo Temple
It has a history of more than 1000 years and is one of the oldest existing wooden structures in China, located at the foot of Lingshan in the suburb of Ningbo. The main hall inside was rebuilt in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the whole hall was connected by tenons and mortises, supporting a roof weighing more than 50 tons.
3. Hemudu Site
Located in Yuyao, excavated at 1973, it is an early Neolithic site in southern China. The rice residue found in it advanced the history of rice cultivation in China to 7000 years ago, and corrected the statement that japonica rice cultivated in China was imported from India and Japan.
4. Dongqian Lake
It is the largest natural freshwater lake in Zhejiang Province, with a distance of 15km. It consists of three parts: Guzi Lake, Meihua Lake Lake and Waihu Lake, covering an area of 22km. Mr. Guo Moruo once praised it as "the scenery of West Lake and the charm of Taihu Lake".
